Hello everyone my name is Nathan Shin and I went to the 2025 New Gen conference in LA which was my first New Gen conference i’ve ever been to and i’ll be speaking of my experience.
To give context to my testimony, I spent this summer working on a personal project online. I won’t get into the details of it, but due to my time mostly being allocated to this project, when the aspect of going to New Gen came up, I personally felt annoyed by having to go.
This is because I thought that the New Gen conference had nothing to do with me since “that conference was for shepherds” but somehow, me, a non shepherd, had to attend the conference.
In hindsight, it actually was such a privilege and I realised that the lessons learned from New Gen can apply and does apply to everyone no matter if they are a shepherd or not because at the end of the day, we are all children of God.
I’m really happy that I did attend this amazing conference because God had the chance to tell me what I was doing wrong. For example: one of the main reasons I was spending so much time on the project was due to worldly desires. This truly helped me to repent and to strive more to be closer to God.
Overall, I’m super thankful that I got to go to the conference. I'm also very grateful to everyone involved in making New Gen a possibility. I thank God for blessing everyone, working through others to make disciples of all nations. Thank you for listening!
안녕하세요, 제 이름은 신은수 이고 이번에 처음으로 2025년 LA에서 열린 뉴젠 컨퍼런스에 참석하게 되었는데, 오늘은 그 경험을 나누려고 합니다.
간단히 제 상황을 말씀드리자면, 저는 올 여름 내내 온라인에서 개인 프로젝트를 진행하고 있었습니다. 자세한 내용은 생략하겠지만, 대부분의 시간을 그 프로젝트에 쏟다 보니 뉴젠에 가야 한다는 이야기가 나왔을 때 사실 마음속으로는 좀 짜증이 났습니다.
왜냐하면 저는 뉴젠 컨퍼런스가 “목자들을 위한 행사”라고만 생각했기 때문입니다. 저는 목자가 아닌데도 억지로 가야 하는 상황처럼 느껴졌습니다.
그런데 지나고 보니, 이번 컨퍼런스에 참석한 것이 정말 큰 특권이었다는 사실을 깨달았습니다. 목자이든 아니든 상관없이, 우리가 모두 하나님의 자녀이기 때문에 그곳에서 배운 교훈은 누구에게나 적용된다는 것을 알게 되었기 때문입니다.
특히 하나님께서 이번 기회를 통해 제가 잘못된 길로 가고 있던 부분을 깨닫게 해주셨습니다. 예를 들어, 제가 프로젝트에 너무 많은 시간을 쓰고 있던 이유 중 하나가 세상적인 욕심 때문이라는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 이를 통해 회개하고 하나님께 더 가까이 나아가야겠다는 결단을 하게 되었습니다.
결론적으로, 이번 뉴젠에 참석할 수 있었던 것이 너무 감사하고, 이런 귀한 자리를 준비해주신 모든 분들께도 고맙습니다. 무엇보다 모든 과정을 통해 일하시며 열방 가운데 제자를 세우시는 하나님께 감사를 드립니다.
