Hi, I am Michelle from EYAM mokjang.

When I signed up for the Life Bible Study, I didn’t really have many thoughts about it. I did it simply because I knew that at some point I would do it anyway, so I thought, why not now? So when Pastor Jang asked us on the first day what I was expecting from this Bible study, I said that I wanted to deepen my relationship with God, without giving it much thought. However, as I look back now, the difference between who I was in the month of September and who I am today is clear. I truly have deepened my relationship with God.

Throughout the study, I want to be honest and say that I don’t think I was able to fully grasp everything, because the study was done in Korean and many of the terms were quite complicated. Still, there were two very memorable moments that I would love to share.

First, we were given the task of summarizing several books of the Bible. Reading the Bible more thoroughly and dedicating time throughout the week to read God’s Word and reflect on it helped me feel more at peace during my day. It was meaningful not only to be reminded of many messages in the Bible, but also to experience a deeper and more intimate relationship with God. I truly felt as though God was speaking to me personally through Scripture and I felt so comforted and felt a stronger sense of God’s love and righteousness .

Second, around the month of November, we had a time called “Experiencing the Holy Spirit.” When I prayed and asked God what He wanted to reveal to me, He filled my heart with a strong sense of sadness and love for my VIPs. I came out of that experience with a deep heartache, realizing that my VIPs and so many people I care about may not end up in Heaven because of my ignorance and my disobedience to God’s purpose. This realization pushed me to seek Jesus more, to pray more for my VIPs, and to do QT more consistently.

I would like to recommend this Bible study to anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with God and better understand His perspective on the world we live in. I especially recommend this study to the younger generation, youth, and young adult mokjang members, because I know that our minds are full of questions and we are in a season of refining our identity.

안녕하세요. 저는 EYAM 목장의  미셸(Michelle) 입니다.

저는 생명의 삶 성경공부 를 신청했을 때 사실 큰 기대나 생각이 많지는 않았습니다. 어차피 언젠가는 하게 될 것 같았고, “그럼 지금 하면 되지” 하는 마음으로 시작했습니다. 그래서 첫날 장 목사님께서 “이번 성경공부를 통해 무엇을 기대하나요?”라고 물으셨을 때, 깊이 생각하지도 못한 채 “하나님과의 관계를 더 깊게 하고 싶습니다”라고 답했습니다. 그런데 지금 돌아보면, 9월의 저와 오늘의 저는 분명히 다릅니다.  저는 정말로 하나님과의 관계가 깊어졌습니다.

공부를 하는 동안 솔직히 말하면, 한국어로 진행되었고 용어들도 꽤 어려워서 모든 내용을 완전히 이해했다고 말하기는 어렵습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 제게 아주 기억에 남는 순간 두 가지가 있어 나누고 싶습니다.

첫째, 성경 여러 권을 요약하는 과제가 있었습니다. 성경을 더 꼼꼼히 읽고, 한 주 동안 시간을 내어 하나님의 말씀을 읽고 묵상하는 과정이 제 하루를 더 평안하게 해 주었습니다. 성경의 많은 메시지를 다시 떠올리게 된 것도 의미 있었지만, 그보다도 하나님과 더 깊고 친밀한 관계를 경험하게 된 것이 더 컸습니다. 말씀을 통해 하나님께서 마치 제게 개인적으로 말씀하시는 것처럼 느껴졌고, 큰 위로를 받았으며 하나님의 사랑과 의로우심을 더 강하게 깨닫게 되었습니다.

둘째, 11월쯤 “성령을 경험하는 시간”이 있었습니다. 기도하며 “하나님, 제게 무엇을 드러내기 원하십니까?”라고 여쭈었을 때, 하나님께서 제 마음에 제 VIP들을 향한 강한 슬픔과 사랑을 부어 주셨습니다. 그 경험 이후 저는 깊은 마음의 아픔을 안고 나오게 되었는데, 그것은 제가 돌보는 VIP들과 사랑하는 많은 사람들이 저의 무지와 하나님의 목적에 대한 불순종 때문에 천국에 이르지 못할 수도 있다는 사실을 깨달았기 때문입니다. 이 깨달음은 저를 더 예수님께 나아가게 했고, VIP들을 위해 더 기도하게 했으며, 큐티(QT)를 더 꾸준히 하도록 이끌어 주었습니다.

저는 하나님과의 관계를 더 깊게 하고, 우리가 살아가는 세상을 향한 하나님의 관점을 더 잘 이해하고 싶은 모든 분들께 생명의 삶을 추천하고 싶습니다. 특히 젊은 세대, 청소년, 청년 목장 식구들에게 더 추천합니다. 우리의 마음에는 질문이 많고, 정체성이 다듬어지는 시기를 지나고 있기 때문입니다.

마지막으로, 성경공부 내내 애써 지도해 주시고 멘토링해 주신 장 목사님, 그리고 늘 맛있는 크루아상을 사 주신 이진영 사모님께 진심으로 감사드립니다. 감사합니다!
