7월 21일(월)부터 24일(목)까지 뉴젠 컨퍼런스에 다녀왔습니다. 제 목적은 참가자들이 잘 다녀오도록 그들의 일정을 잘 관리하자는 것이었습니다. 그런데 막장 가니까 제가 많이 배우고 많이 깨닫고 많이 은혜를 받았습니다.

280 명의 헌신된 하나님의 백성이 드리는 예배는 하나님이 임재로 가득 찼습니다. 빠르지 않고 오히려 늦은 템포의 찬양을 드릴 때, 처음에는 분위기가 무거웠지만, 시간이 지나면서 찬양이 우리를 압도하는 새로운 경험을 했습니다. 어른들도 소그릅으로 모여서 나눔을 가졌는데, 그때 시야가 넓어지고 새로운 것을 깨달았습니다. 소그룹 강의에서도 많은 것을 배웠습니다.

제가 느낀 점을 간단히 소개하면 이렇습니다. 먼저, 우리가 자녀들을 Next Generation이 아니라 New Generation이라고 부르는 이유는, 자녀들이 미래에 사역하는 것이 아니라 지금 사역하는 사람들이라는 것입니다. 어른들이 자녀들을 돌봐 주기만 하는 것이 아니라, 아이들도 주체적으로 어른들과 같이 사역한다는 것입니다. 예를 들어, 아이들이 어른들을 위해 기도해 주고, 세대통합 예배를 드릴 때에도 아이들이 대표기도를 하는 것입니다.

두번째는 사역 통합입니다. 크게 보면 교회는 주일학교 사역과 학생부 사역과 청장년 사역이 있습니다. 사역하는 대상이 다르기 때문에 보통 사역을 따로 합니다. 그러나 우리 교회는 영혼구원하여 제자삼는 목적이 있기 때문에 주일학교와 학생부와 청장년이 연결되어서 사역해야 합니다.

예를 들어, 한 가족의 아이나 유스를 통해 부모가 구원을 받을 수 있습니다. 반대로 부모가 아이들의 영혼구원에 영향을 미칠 수 있습니다. 이번에 일본 고등학생 자매가 간증을 했는데, 목장에 참석하면서 엄마가 변하는 모습을 보면서 하나님을 믿게 되었다고 합니다. 그런데 엄마도 딸이 목장에 참석하면서 변하는 모습을 보고 하나님을 믿게 되었다고 합니다.

그래서 앞으로 제가 주일학교와 학생부의 교육목사처럼 주일학교와 학생부의 현황을 파악하고 각 부서의 필요와 요구를 취합하려고 합니다. 그래서 주일학교와 학생부와 청장년 사역이 통합하여 영혼구원과 성장이 더 잘 되게 하려고 합니다.

마지막으로, 각 사역부서의 지도자와 사역자들은 무리가 되더라도 매년 뉴젠 컨퍼런스에 갔으면 좋겠습니다. 각자 사역 분야에서 눈이 띄이고 하나님의 일하심과 계획을 볼 수 있을 것입니다.

I went to the NewGen Conference from July 21(M) to 24(R). My goal was to manage the participants' schedules so that they could have a good time. However, I myself learned a lot, realized a lot, and received a lot of grace.

The worship service of 280 dedicated people of God was filled with the presence of God. When we praised with a slow tempo songs, the atmosphere was heavy at first, but as time passed, I had a new experience where the praise overwhelmed us. The adults also gathered in small groups and shared, and at that time, my perspectives were broadened and experienced realizing new things. I also learned a lot from the small group lectures.

Here is a brief introduction of what I felt. First, the reason we call children the New Generation instead of the Next Generation is because children are not the ones who will serve in the future, but the ones who serve now. It is not that adults just take care of children, but that children also take the initiative and serve with adults. For example, children pray for adults, and when we hold inter-generational worship services, children and youth can lead prayers on behalf of the adults.

The second is the integration of ministry. Broadly speaking, churches have Sunday school ministry, student ministry, and adult ministry. Since the targets of ministries are different, they are usually separated. However, our church has the purpose of saving souls and making disciples, so Sunday school, student ministry, and adult ministry should be connected and serve together.

For example, parents can be saved through a child or youth of a family. Conversely, parents can influence the salvation of their children’s souls. This time, a Japanese high school sister gave a testimony, saying that she came to believe in God after seeing her mother change while attending the MokJang. The mother also came to believe in God after seeing her daughter change while attending the MokJang.

So, going forward, I will act like the educational pastor of the Sunday school and student department, and I will try to understand the current status of the Sunday school and student department and gather the needs and demands of each department. I will integrate the Sunday school, student department, and youth ministry to better achieve soul salvation and growth.

Lastly, I would like the leaders and teachers of each ministry department to attend the Newzen Conference every year, even if it demands a lot. Each of them will see new things in their ministry field, God’s work and His plans.
